Nanobody Discovery
Nanobody
Discovery
Nanobodies originate from the variable domain of heavy chain antibodies in camelids (camels and llamas) or cartilaginous fish (sharks and rays), with a molecular weight of only 12-15 kDa, making them the smallest known antibody fragments (2-4 nm). They are characterized by their small size, high stability, excellent specificity, high affinity, low immunogenicity, ease of genetic modification, and scalability in production. These advantages confer significant value in basic research, clinical diagnostics, and therapeutics.
